Florida, Louisiana and Alabama were the wettest states, while California, Montana, Nevada and Arizona were the driest (Las Vegas took the top spot for driest city). Average rainfall was highest in the United States between July and September and lowest between January and March.

Mawsynram is a village in the East Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya state in north-eastern India, 65 kilometres from Shillong. It is reportedly the wettest place on Earth, with an average annual rainfall of 467.4 inches, but that claim is disputed by Lloró, Colombia, which reported an average yearly rainfall of 500.7 inches between 1952 and 1989 and López de Micay, also in Colombia, which reported 507.6 inches per year between 1960 and 2012. According to the Guinness Book of World Records, Mawsynram received 1,000 inches of rainfall in 1985.
Baton Rouge averages around 62 inches per year.

I remember it rained over 100 inches in New Orleans back in 1991.

Just fact-checked you, and KMSY location reported:
106.07 inches in 1990.
116.33 inches in 1991
106.89 inches in 1992
162.85 inches in 1993
131.10 inches in 1995
And looks like it hasnt been near 100 inches since then.
So thats really interesting in terms of climate change discussions.
eta:
Holy shite, KBTR reports 213.61 inches in 1993.
Idk if i believe this data now

Louisiana and FL dominate the list with the wettest mid-sized to large cities in the U.S.

Do you have a link to these figures? I believe the 1991 total, but some of those look bogus.
