Yamaha has been sitting...

I have a 2004 Yamaha yfz450, and it's been sitting at my parent's house (I moved out of state, didn't have a chance to transport it yet). Bad part: it's outside, not covered, weathered, etc. Been sitting out for 3 years or so..I have a chance now to transport in January. If you had to guess what has to be done to get it going again...what would you guess?
(P.S. I know I'm a dumba$$ for allowing this to happen)

Do not try to start. Drain all gas #1 and pump new gas

Empty out the gas tank, you may need to clean/get a new petcock. Remove the carb, pull the bottom bowl and remove the jets, soak/clean them out and clean the carb well. Also a safe bet you'll need a new battery.
Being that it's sat that long outside I'd highly consider removing the spark plug and shooting a little WD40 in the cylinder and letting it sit for a day or so.

I would include some sort of fuel treatment in that tank of gas also. Maybe that sea foam stuff or something that helps with water/moisture in the system.

though I guess being a racing bike doesn't exclude the ability to snorkel it, maybe it does idk.

Sell it to me for 500.

Honestly, the reason I posted this originally, was because I was debating on what to do with it. I think I like it too much to sell it for only $500, and I'd probably rather learn more about doing some of the work. Though I have thought about selling it rather than transporting it and fixing it up...she was a bad B though when she was in good shape.

If it's as rough as you say even running you may only get $1000-$1200 for it.

You may not even get 1k for it honestly. I was into race quads for a while the market for a 04 yfz in south la is gone. No one I buying them. You'd prolly do better parting it out if it had aftermarket suspension steering stem a arms etc.
