Completion percentage is even less important for a team that tries to establish the run game in and game out like LSU does. First of all, they are throwing fewer passes than a more balanced team so that in and of itself, diminishes the importance. Second, they generally throw a lot low percentage more deep balls to keep defenses from stacking the box. What LSU needs to do is be more efficient in 1st and 3rd down passing.
