Keurig Coffee

Probably get slammed on here but I'm the only one in my house that drinks coffee and the Keurig is easy. Looking for a rich smooth coffee, if that's possible with Keurig. I drink it black so I don't want any of the flavored ones. Suggestions?

I like the Community Café Special in the Keurig cup.

Probably.
It is expensive on a per cup basis. I bought one of those little filter things and I use Seattle's Best #5. Sometimes I grind, sometimes buy it pre-ground.
I set it on "strong" and it comes out plenty stout for me.
I calculated it about 8 cents per cup. The K-cups will be about 50 cents per cup, if not more.

I drink Community Breakfast Blend brewed with the Keurig machine. Passable for the one cup I drink, but I'm thinking about switching to a percolator so I can get that good aroma as it brews.

I thought I have read that the percolator is actually one of the worst ways to make good coffee.
With the french press being among the best followed by a traditional drip.
I might be wrong.

I have always been a community guy but a friend put me onto folgers black silk. It is my favorite Kcup flavor and I also drink my coffee black. I might catch a little flak for this one but the great value donut shop one is pretty good imo and you cant beat the price. $15 for a big big box. I keep the black silk for my lounging around days off with the kids at school and the gv donut shop for the grab a cup to go on the way to work every day.

Buy a French press and grinder. It will save you money in the long run. The time isn't much different

Same here. I buy the Community K Cups when the local store has them on sale. But other than that I keep a small bag of ground at my desk and use the filters. I bought a 6 pack of filters from Amazon and gave my Mom half of them. They're plastic with a mesh screen and dishwasher safe. I'll go through 2-3 of them during the week and wash them in the sink at work, and bring them home on the weekend and run them through the dishwasher.

Can you elaborate? I make damn good coffee for just me with my press.

Try the McDonalds medium roast blend.
edited to add.
I am not a good debater in these discussions. I have made coffee in a Keurig. I have made it in a percolator. I have made it with the grinds in a sock with the top tied in a 20 cup campfire pot that never dropped below simmering temperature for two or three days, with water and more grinds added as needed to keep the pot half filled. I have owned several Mr. Coffee, Cuisinart and Bunn drip makers.
I was QA director for a company that made steam powered 500 cup drip pots for prisons and military installations and sampled coffee made in those monster pots. I have ordered coffee in Paris, drank instant Taster's Choice on the plains of Zimbabwe and have made it in a rinsed out can positioned over a fire in a hole in the jungle. I cannot remember ever throwing a cup out as undrinkable or undesirable.
Maybe that is why I fail to understand the importance of F&D Board's ongoing "first world problem" arguments about the best way to make a cup of this wonderful beverage.
Thank you Father for coffee.

It's the same as the guy who suggests Toyota when the questions is about Ford vs. Chevy.

yeah but the guy asking since he is only person in house that drinks coffee. French press is pretty solid for this situation.
Kurig is expensive and puts out objectively terrible coffee.
12oz french press is $13
Plus your average bag of coffee is $8-12. Most stores have a grinder that you can get a rough grind from, so you don't even need a grinder.

you are making this personal for some reason. You have something against me and that is pretty sad.

Doesn't have to be expensive (I spend less per cup than a french press) and "objectively" is not the proper word.
Don't get me wrong, I love my FP, but I use it when I have more time for the experience.
