He will start due to the fact he has already played against Miss State Twice, he has the experience and to be honest Danny didn't light the world on fire. If he would have continued with the hot quarter he had then maybe he would have put his self in position to possible start. But let's face it, he played 3 quarters and only completed a pass in one of them.
I guess you don't realize that Etling has 12 games under his belt as a starter in the Big 10 at Purdue, so this would NOT be his first conference game if, and he should, be named the starter...

probably the first time in Harris life he's ever been pulled from a game....time to grow up and show some balls

but give me the SEC game experience over 6/14 100yards at home vs a FCS team.
Experience means nothing if a player is terrible.
And did you even watch the game, particularly the second qtr?. Etling looked very solid and you could see how much better the team reacted to the change.

No way Harris and dupre should play against miss st. bullshite attitudes from both.

I'll never understand that line of thinking. Etling doesn't have experience playing MSU because he's never had the opportunity, if you don't give it to him then he'll never have the experience. He earned the start and Harris has earned the bench...maybe they'll both wind up better for it, that's coaching. It's not like he has no experience. He's started against the B1G schools
The only reason he didn't complete a pass in the 2nd half is due to drops and penalties calling plays back. Or else his stat line would look something like 9/14 200 yards 2 TD 0 picks. He played better than his real stats show

With Les as our coach, it would not surprise me at all!

BH came in 2 years ago and looked much better than DE last night and he didn't start the next game
That was against New Mexico State that this JSU team would skull frick and BH was destroyed the next week getting the start against Auburn as a freshman, but to be fair, Jennings would have been too, AU was on fire that game...

While Etling didn't light the world on fire, the fact that he energized the entire team and Tiger Stadium roared when the offense made a first down, speaks to how little we expect of our offense right now. Pretty sad. I like Brandon Harris but he is just off right now and has not improved much during his years here.
Is Etling the answer, do we go back to Harris? That I don't know but I honestly believe if we had not made a switch last night we potentially lose that game.

Experience means nothing...Harris hasn't progressed in two seasons...you're frickin clueless...

Etling earned a shot to be the starter and get ALL the first team reps this week.
If he lays an egg, fine out Harris back in or give 12 a shot.
But we saw something in he 2nd quarter that looked like a real offense. Let's give Etling a whole game and see what happens.
