Signing up for health insurance... where to start?

I find myself a couple weeks away from 26, and now have to get my own health insurance plan, and not very sure where to start. I've tried to search the topic, but no luck. If there's already a thread you can link me to where this topic has been previously discussed, that would be awesome!
Any suggestions on where to start when it comes to signing up for health insurance? I know just about nothing about it. I've done a few google searches and see that there are a lot of options. I rarely go to the doctor and am in good health. Any advice would be much appreciated!

You're 26? Do you have a full time employer? That's one place to start, see what they offer.

You start by getting a piece of rebar. Make sure not to get the scented or warming lube, those will burn when it is inserted.

You're about to find one of the few areas in which it helps for you to not make much money. Because if you make too much to get federal subsidies, you're about to be in a world of hurt.

You might want to check into sharing ministries.
It's cheaper and better than any exchange plan.

i'd look into something like Liberty On Call. It qualifies as insurance but isn't technically insurance.

ive saved probably $15k over the last several years by not paying for that terrible coverage

Common mistake that young people make. You could be in a car wreck that would put you in the hospital for a month with a year of physical therapy following that. And the person who hit you has 10/20/5 coverage.

I did the same thing not to long ago. I pay right at $200 a month for shite coverage. Deductible is like $7000 and I couldn't tell you what the copay is without looking at the file. I never go to the doctor and it's totally catastrophic coverage. Necessary evil I guess. The only saving grace is that it's Blue Cross and their network is solid.
