WVU officals blaimed

Wow, explains why initial reports of Rod leaning towards staying where so suddenly reversed and had him on a plane by Sunday.

And if Nikki Izzo-Brown gets hired as Michigan's womans soccer coach... Don't think I'll be driving through WV anytime soon, don't think their gonna show me the love.

I thought they were a farm program. They sound a little bitter to me and bitterness will only eat them up internally. I think it would be best for all involved to become active in some type of yaga class that includes meditation. Everything is going to be ok and they are going to go back to being nobody, as they should, they are WVU and they should never forget that.

No chance in hell Nick Saban would walk into that mess. More surprisingly is that boosters offered to pay the cost, and the university turned them down. None of that stuff would do anything except make the Mountaineers better. That said, I'm glad I don't ever have to drive through West Virginia again.

Interesting. As a fan of college football, I was sad to see RR leave WV. I just thought he was happy there and I was happy for him. I thought he WAS West Virginia football. I know it must have been a tough decision for him.

Honestly had they caved and let the boosters handle it, I think they would have kept him. Reinforces my belief that despite all the back patting Bill Martin has been doing, this was really a case of WVU outting Rich, rather than a case of UM landing him.

That said, their lose is our gain!

I said this on Sunday and I totally feel it to be true. They would not come through on what they had basically already agreed to in his contract last year and he felt he had no choice.

What I found stunning in the article is that WVU lost their swimming coach to a Florida high school program. If true, that is absurd and really underscores the unbelievably frugal attitude that the WVU administration has for its sports programs.

Wow. They have pissed off the wrong folks. They should probably clean the AD house to possibly appease these boosters. I can't imagine they are in a spot to be able to afford losing tens of millions of dollars.

Q&A with Martin

There's a great exchange in this Q&A with Martin.

quote:

Q: Will you encourage him to keep any of the current assistants?

MARTIN: We've left that decision entirely in his hands, subject to my approval.
