Don't see Dantonio leaving because as stated, the health issues and I think he's happy to just ride things out.
Besides, if you want to poach someone off the MSU staff, Pat Narduzzi would be the one to take. Though I don't see Alabama trying their hand at someone who hasn't had HC experience, someone is going to take a swing at him and be rewarded for it.

How ya'll feel about your new coach???
Considering the style played in the Florida game was a little more Rich Rod's style, and how WVU did against OU, we're pretty excited about the hire and glad we avoided all those looming bad hiring outcomes.
Not all of us are sold on the defense, and are bracing for a difficult transition year next year as well.

Why can't people use his whioe name instead of RR Rich Rod etc?
Our last coach was named "Carr". We're a bit spoiled with easy last names, Rodriguez will take some time to adjust ;)

I just thought he was happy there and I was happy for him.
Honestly had they caved and let the boosters handle it, I think they would have kept him. Reinforces my belief that despite all the back patting Bill Martin has been doing, this was really a case of WVU outting Rich, rather than a case of UM landing him.
That said, their lose is our gain!
Good read on RR bolting WVU for Michigan

WVU officals blaimed
Wow, explains why initial reports of Rod leaning towards staying where so suddenly reversed and had him on a plane by Sunday.
And if Nikki Izzo-Brown gets hired as Michigan's womans soccer coach... Don't think I'll be driving through WV anytime soon, don't think their gonna show me the love.

Still visiting

Well they have all that buyout money Michigan gave them!
Buyouts can be negotiated, and theres some slippery language in the contract that because WVU didn't start breaking ground on their new facilities voids part of the agreement. WVU might be a bit disappointed with how much of that 4million they actually get.

Did they turn down their bowl invitation or something? I thought they still had one more game left to complete their season
Don't think he was given an option to keep quite and finish it out after the bowl. Like I said, the school wanted him out NOW and wasn't going to wait till after the bowl to announce anything.
As for Michigan going after him before bowl season starts, unfortunately because of the way recruiting works they needed to get something done. The fact that they floated this out to him during the dead period somewhat suggest to me that maybe something could have been worked out on the back end, but WVU was to pissed off by him even considering to let that happen.

Exactly... just pissed that ESPN bashed Saban/Petrino but are not doing the same with RR.
Saban flat out lied, then left.
Petrino left mid-season after lying to his owner, skipping out on his players, and giving his resignation over the phone.
In Petrino's defense, its slowly coming out more side of his story which helps some.
Rich Rod finished his season, addressed his players, and sat down with 2 meetings with his AD. He did not lie during the courtship but instead did not address it. If you want to give him flack, I would do it more over leaving his alma mater and not settling to build the program there. In that point he probably deserves it, and the WVU boards seem to be ladling it out.
It is unfortunate imo that this thing could not be signed and delivered until after the bowl game. However, this is my take on what happened. This fits with what has been posted here and on other boards. Rich Rod was unhappy privately with his AD and the lack of progress on his promised facilities. Michigan comes calling, he agrees to hear it out, but does not confer with his AD. RR waffles on it for a day, and ends up leaning towards staying. The AD and boosters get PO'ed because he went behind them to even meet with Michigan, and basically outs him after this and last years Alabama deal. So while he may have ended up wanting to stay, he poisoned his chances of staying and has to leave.
In the minds of the media, he really didn't do anything wrong. Coaches are supposed to be allowed to hear offers. In the minds of the WVU fanbase, he stabbed them in the back and they want him dead.
