Question regarding dog neutering

Got my little buddy fixed yesterday and he isn't supoosed to run or jump for 10 days so the suture can heal.
Everything was fine yesterday, he was pretty much dead. When I got back from class today, he was hyper as all frick running, junping on the couch, etc. Anyway I can calm him down so he doesn't re-open his wound?

Just try to minimize it as best you can. It would take a lot to undo the sutures. Take him for a walk and he'll use some energy trotting instead of jumping.

Tie his legs together.

If you don't already, get one of those cone things for his head. My psycho terrier gnawed his stitches out.

They told me he didn't need. He's been pretty good about not licking it so far

The cone thing prevented my lab from licking and going ape shite.

my doberman just had it done. Lucky i was out of town for over a week while he healed

Not much you can do inside. No fetch or anything outside. I experienced the exact same back in July. I kept an eye on the stitches and everything healed just fine even with him being hyper. We were fetching by day 5

You can give the dog 1mg of benadryl per pound. If the dog is 25lbs you can give him one 25mg tab. You can give more if that isn't effective. Otherwise see your vet, they can prescribe xanax.

Did they not give you 3 days worth of doggy chill pills? SNAP in Houston gave them for my heeler.

Like everyone else has said, Benedryl works wonders.
You're lucky your dog isn't rocking a cone. Had to get my dog's chopped off when he was four, which resulted in a weaponized 80 lb coonhound tearing through the house for a week with that thing on.
