Human Jukebox gives the gift of music to shelter residents

WHY can the amazing Southern band do this type of gesture for Louisiana residents but LSU cannot? Sad.

The current leadership of the LSU band would never think to do something for someone else. Southern's band is CLASSY. The LSU band administration used to be classy (i.e. South Carolina game). Those days are over.

There's really no need for this.

It was a great gesture by Southern no doubt. That doesn't necessarily mean the LSU band is trash, not sure why you're comparing the two.

Yes....there really IS a need for this. The LSU band administration WAS classy, but now = nope!
Know this.....ALL three of the yahoos running the LSU band have NEVER been in charge of a college marching band. Would you hire that kind of inexperience for LSU's football coach (never - EVER been a head coach at the college level)?

Because the LSU band used to do these type of things (i.e. South Carolina game last year, etc.). I don't like where the LSU is headed these days. The LSU band is smaller than they have been in many years. Students are quitting the band during band camp (reported on line), no full band trip this year, etc.

If you only knew how many families of the LSU band members were affected by the flooding maybe you would understand. The human jukebox had very little affected by the flooding so there is that. Dumb f u c k

That poor old man standing in the front. Probably the most miserable time for him.

Don't know the exact statistic of how many LSU band members were affected by the flood vs Southern band members.....but that does not really matter, in fact, your statement might be a reason why the LSU band should have done this. The LSU band members were at band camp (just like the Southern band). All you do is take a couple of hours out of your camp schedule to show up at a shelter and GIVE BACK to the community....BTW, there was a shelter ON THE LSU CAMPUS (fieldhouse).

Most of the students are still dealing with cleaning up family and friends homes. They do not have several hours to go blowing music in old peoples ears. Glad Southern had time to do it. I guess they couldn't come across the Amite river to donate some of their time.

Makes no sense since the LSU band members were sequestered on campus each day from 8:00 am until 10:30 pm each day at camp.....no time to tear out sheetrock, etc. However, you may have a good point....if MANY LSU band members were affected by the flood as you say, why were they at camp to begin with? Anyway, they certainly COULD HAVE slipped in to the field house to play for a couple of minutes.

Good for Southern but if my house was gone and I've been in a shelter for days and days the last thing I want to hear is Southern's band blasting in my face.

If I were living in a shelter with my family, I would want a great many things.

The sounds of the Southern University band would be pretty low on the list.
