Also, about the Jr. versus II topic. I never thought about it until recently but technically (?) the elder's name changes upon going with the Jr. option (i.e. if Usain Bolt names his son Usain Bolt Jr., then Usain Bolt becomes Usain Bolt Sr.). This would seem to create confusion with documents, etc.

I've had numerous occasions with additional forms to be filled out due to the Jr. confusion issue.

With the II option, the dad's name doesn't change at all.

my dad didn't change his but he started informally going by his middle name when i was born
