Sadly, the only restaurant I've visited on any of those lists is Galatoires.
My wife does not appreciate fine dining and simply doesn't appreciate good food. She likes to hit the gym and is paranoid because her mother is overweight. Just about every time we go out to eat she orders grilled chicken or a salad and water. She literally cried once in a restaurant because I made her order actual food (I told her even if she ordered a salad, I was still ordering her a real meal). While I spend money like water, she is the thriftiest person I ever met - so if we go to Galatoire's she complains for a week about how much it cost.
Eating (and cooking) good food is one of my greatest joys. I will make it my life's mission to visit each and every restaurant listed in this thread if I have to drag my wife kicking and screaming, or go alone. Bookmarked this thread. There are a lot of very good restaurants though that have great food that don't fall into that fine dining category and is not as expensive. Nola had def. seen a trend with these kind of places over the last 5 years.
