any jewelry store will appraise a ring.

You didn't get an appraisal when you purchased it? Any reputable store will do it for a fee most likely. Check out adlers

Call or Walk into a pawn shop or jewelry store .. Ask if there Jeweler is GIA certified. Do not have anyone that's not GIA certified appraiser complete this task. Also never have the place you purchase the ring from do the appraisal.
Also I know Jered does appraisals one weekend every month.. Call them to find out when.

and one other thing, the only time that piece of jewelry will ever be worth the appraised price after you walked out of the store with it will be if it's lost or stolen and you file a claim on it, other that that, it's pretty much a trinket

Ask them to unmount the center store it could be the difference between 1-2 clarity and color grades. I would also ask to meet the Jeweler that will perform the appraisal.

I read this as you needed a "Jewish Appraiser." I thought that was oddly specific, and I assumed you must be the buyer.

Bought an engagement ring at Antons and brought it to KG Jewelers to get appraised and he pretty much laughed at me for buying such a shitty stone. Said the quality that Antons said the diamond was, wasn't anywhere near what it should be.

well, if you have something in writing saying the stone is a specific quality and it isn't, I would get an attorney involved.
