Very sorry to hear about your friend's passing.
This saying has never made sense to me regarding suicide.
So...if a permanent solution is not what one needs, does this mean they need a temporary solution? When I think of temporary solution I think of drugs or alcohol being used to mask the symptoms.
Depression can be a temporary problem but you need a permanent solution to make it that way. Unfortunately, some people choose the wrong permanent solution.
