WHy is it the publics responsibility to make your hobby free? Go to the bookstore or the internet and buy a book.
WHy can't we have a free golf range run by the gov't? I enjoy that hobby and don't feel like paying for it every time i want to hit some balls.

There are libraries at every school. Kids have all the access they want there. So we have huge buildings employing people just so some cheap adults can read books on the taxpayers dime.

You could not be more ignorant on the subject. Our libraries are a tremendous resource that do more than just house cheap books. They teach literacy classes, have after school programs, bring in guest lecturers, serve as a gathering place for community meetings, host dozens of groups, teach classes on any topic immaginable, offer free access to expensive research databases that most people cannot access, ect
