1. the population center is pretty small.

2 there is no history of success. Jazz or Pels

so yes, the fanbase is meh.

I saw a poll once that has 27% of Americans as fans of basketball.

If you are looking at NYC, you have a base of maybe 5 or 6 million people - 25% of the 17 or 20 million in the region, all of 5 million grew up watching the game, many in person with a parent or uncle.
Chicago won championships and they have 6 million in the area.
LA won championships and they have 10 million in LA county
Boston won championships for generations and have many more people than New Orleans.
Philadelphia has championships in several decades. so the fans have seen greatness.


I was pissed when Utah took the Jazz AND the name. They should not have the name.

How's that doing for the Warriors lately? How about the Thinder having no history at all and starting at the top?
