Will be staying on the magnificent mile next week and looking for the best places to grab some drinks. Also looking for some restaurants. Looking to have deep dish pizza at least one night. TIA

Timmy O'Toole's is a good place for beers and to watch games

I have no answer, but we are staying on the Mag Mile now at the Four seasons. What a spectacular hotel!

There's a Lou Malnati's on Rush. I would assume it's walking distance from your hotel.

What type of place are you looking for? If looking for a tavern/pub, as mentioned in the thread title, I recommend Timmy O'Toole's and Lizzie McNeill's. What I like about Lizzie's is their outdoor patio space across the street from the bar; it lines the river.
There are also a number of bars popping up along the Chicago Riverwalk, if you choose to do some strolling around.

RPM Italian is a short walk from Michigan Ave. Their Lobster Ravioli is fantastic.
I'd also recommend just walking over to Portillo's and grabbing a Chicago-style Hot Dog.

There is a nice bar in Ditka's on Chestnut between the Water Tower and the Hancock Building

As the ND/UT will be on Sunday night, going to be looking for a sports bar type place. But doesn't necessarily have to be a "sports bar" for say to have some good draft beer and watch the game

Was told Giordanos was a good place to go. Thoughts?

Would prefer Lou Malnati's or Pequod's over Giordano's.

I've tried Lou malnati's, giardanos and Gino's.
Lou's is easily the best of those 3. Lots of people have pequods as their #1 fwiw

We stopped for a drink here...great atmosphere when the weather is nice and the place is busy.
Also, best lunch on the mag mile might be the Purple Pig

Definitive list
Here LINK /
Purple pig and portillos best bets
Mariposa in Neimans good lunch
Timmys is a dungeon with bad food
Deep dish sucks in general but if you must go to pequods which isn't really deep dish it's pan pizza and that's why it's not terrible
Rpm Italian is horrible

Kitty O'Sheas is a good Irish bar in the Hilton Chicago.
