I think people would go for hockey if they were exposed to it. I don't know shite about hockey but the one big game a year I might watch usually keeps me entertained. I think I'd pick it up real quick if I had a team to root for. It seems to be catching on in Dallas from what I can tell.

Not really. Chicago and Detroit games sell well but 2/3 of the crowd is rooting for the opponent. I watched one game last year where Detroit scored and the fans cheered; I thought the Stars were on the road and then realized it was a home game.

The rest of the time around 30-40% of the fans are rooting for the Stars' opponent. Even the Rangers' bandwagon fan base is better.
