I don't think there's any space-related nicknames left for Houston to get another professional Franchise.

But seriously, if there was enough support for an NHL team here, I've gotta think those folks could afford to build their own arena and not have to use the Toyota Center. It may not be economical, but now you can move concerts/wrestling/trade shows/conventions/etc. and split them between the two arenas. So it's not like they couldn't do it if they really wanted to.

Eventually the NHL is going to go to 32 teams. I'd think for Houston to realistically have a shot, they'd have to have an arena and the necessary suitors already in place...which they don't have.

Does Houston need another 18,000 seat arena? Seems like many NBA/NHL teams share arenas. If they ever tear down the Astrodome certainly a new arena could be built there.
