dryer is about the cheapest thing in the world to fix...what went wrong that would make you want to trash it?

Hang your clothes out on a line.

Dryers aren't that expensive. Amazon Prime, if you have it.

What went wrong? Has the motor burnt? Or the motor runs but it does not dry? Dryers are not difficult to fix. I have fixed mine successfully. Some parts, some time and some youtube is all what you need.

Also you don't need a dryer in this weather. Dry outside, and wait till black friday

If you know how to fix it yourself. This guy isn't even asking what could be wrong, or how to fix it.

Idk what's wrong with it. It's making this sorta buzz noise that happens when I move the knob to any dry setting. When I move it to the Off position the noise stop. Start button doesn't do anything when I push it

best case, stuck fan.
Worst case locked up motor. Between $90 to $250 to repair.
(depending on issue)

Agreeing with diagnosis. Either stuck fan or locked or burnt motor. For the latter there should be some smell of burnt wires. Did you get any? If no smell, you may be in luck. Just open and see.

Also some wire may be loose. I encourage you to open it. Nothing lost.

No smell but it's late and I don't feel like screwing with it . It's super old though

Prob the drum belt! Motor turning is the grinding on broken belt or it slipped.

hmm, good call. If it's humming when he turns it on. The quickest way to tell if it's a belt is to spin the drum, if it moves with no resistance then the belt is gone. If you can't turn it without He-man strength then the fan is stuck or the motor locked up.
If it spins normally then the problem is in your timer control or the start switch.

You can probably find an awesome deal on Craigslist, depending on where you're at. People get rid of good washers and dryers all the time due to moving, upgrading, etc...
