What the frick? As a GenX doing rather well, I can say, any money spent on cars younger than 6 years old is a complete waste. Are you one of those clueless idiots who waste shite tons on a depreciating asset? Yes, you are.

dgnx6, that is the problem, millennials in high school are told to go to college and get a degree, any degree. That when you graduate you will have a better chance at a career and in your lifetime you will make more money than those who do not. Its unfortunate that the economy and job market took a dump right when a lot of the millennials graduated from college.

Paragraphs. Learn how they work.

how old do you think gen x'ers are?

Yep. The oldest of the Gen X'ers are turning 50 this year. Most should still be working.

If we're talking about college in 1970, let's go ahead and pull "Gen X" out of his original claim.
Traditional age students going to college in 1970 were born between 1948 and 1952...
Not Gen X. Not by a long shot.

Im Gen X early 40's and i been busting my butt working for close to 20 years now and will be busting it another 20 and may never retire but i have accepted that fate. It is what it is deal with it. All i can do is enjoy my family and try and help them out as much as i can for as long as i'm around. So i really hate that you threw Gen X into your millennial cryfest . We are the ones supporting a great deal of the baby boomers all the while listening to the millennials whine how bad they got it .

Holy shite! Some of you really have a horrible understanding of the life most Southern families had prior to the mid 90's or so.

Depending on the major and what job he has lined up, that's really not bad

We put our selves through college by burying our selves in depth just to get a decent paying job
I think this sentence explains quite a bit. Why would someone getting a degree in Minority studies or ancient Polynesian Languages expect to get some high paying job.

My millennial half sister in law is a professional dog walker and poop scooper... she works 8 hrs a week, lives at home, and bitches that her allowance isnt enough after blowing through a $30k college fund because she wanted to get out of the house and go to a "real college" elsewhere (she failed out after the 1st year). This is the behavior that brings millennials down. Can't blame GenX for that attitude.

One simple word, it's spelled W O R K.
I started out life on my own without a pot to piss in or a window to throw it out of. I'm 46 now, married with two kids, good high paying career, a nice home in a nice subdivision in a nice town, already substantial retirement savings, and with enough money to give myself and my family a comfortable living.
And not one damn penny of it was given to me. I've worked my arse off for every bit of it. Instead of bitching and moaning and blaming everyone else when things get hard or don't go my way, I suck it up and drive on because I know if I want anything out of this life I've got to work for it.
It's time for you and the rest of your generation to grow the frick up and start acting like responsible adults. And that starts by stopping this blaming every fricking problem you face on everyone else.

I'm 26, have a good job, own a house with my wife, but I guess I'm the exception...
Boomers do still occupy a lot of good jobs but my generation also doesn't want to work their way up the ladder by paying their dues and getting real experience.
My issue with the Boomers is their inability to control government spending. My generation will be paying off that 20 trillion dollar debt, if we ever balance the budget to start paying it off.
