Let me get this straight. You are upset because the government wants to loan you money at below market rate instead of just giving you cash? Because that is what I just read.

Not even close. I'm upset because the people with the exact circumstances as me will get a grant and I won't. Why? Because they have piss poor credit and i dont. That's not reasonable.

No I think he's upset for the same reason a lot of other hard working people are... because if you bust your arse to better yourself you get shite on in this country.
Work and pay taxes into the system your whole life. The one time you need help you get denied because you worked too hard to better yourself. Meanwhile if you feed off the system your entire life don't worry... you'll get even more for doing nothing.

Fat fingered the down vote but this is the white of the century! The biggest lasting effect of Katrina was that it set the expectation nationwide that daddy government would come in and save the day.
I know this is a terrible disaster and I want everyone to get as much help as possible but why do we think the government is the best choice to help?
