We rent houses on 30A and preparing these as an app over drinks would be the fun part, though we've never specifically done oysters...it's something we do at home though. We scalloped in Appalachicola and cleaned/baked those last time, the prep and cooking and enjoying each other's company is the fun.

Having someone else come in a private trip because you can't or won't cook for yourself is bizarre to me. The lack of empowerment is why I said I was embarrassed for you. The wording was probably too strong, but again I can't really imagine wanting chargrilled oysters, it's a good idea, and not having them because you can't find someone to do it for you.

ETA: In your defense we've hired people to do this for us multiple times at Saints tailgates...because ain't nobody got time for that shite when you're tailgating.

I'm just asking for someone that shows up for a few hours and shucks and grills. BRget offered to come on the trip.

Honestly, it is fricking great to get a private chef to come in and cook, for one meal, for a half dozen couples on vacation. Especially if there are kids involved.
