Near the end of the movie, why did Chigurh kill the guy with the chicken crates in the bed of his truck? This guy wasn't involved in the mess in any way.

Chigurh is a force of nature, he feels compelled by some loose ethics but not above killing to accomplish his overall goals. It was a means to an end.

i don't know that we know he killed him did we? we just assumed when he had the truck. i can't remember. the farmer is my MiL's cousin and she was glad he didn't die on screen, so i don't recall.
