It's good to have friends.

They're siblings. Also, Shire is the mother of Jason Schwartzman.
Thus, the inexplicable success of Jason Schwartzman is finally resolved.

Cazale had such high profile roles in critically acclaimed AND commercially successful films that he will be hard to beat.
Sarah Holcomb was in 4 feature films, 2 of which were Animal House and Caddyshack.
She had some bad addiction problems and disappeared from the scene. That's all I got.

I spent some time researching her one night and that's a crazy store. Hell, you and I may have been posting links to each other about it.

quote:Dean had speaking roles in 3 other feature movies (none Oscar nominated). He also did a lot of TV, including a live TV drama as a killer holding Dr Ronald Reagan hostage!
James Dean was only in 3 movies.
East of Eden, Rebel Without a Cause, and Giant.
They were all pretty great movies. He does't get the awards that Cazale got, but still, that is a strong line up.
Aside from his Oscar nom pics, Cazale has 2 film credits: a student short and an episode of the TV series NYPD (which Pacino also did, though not the same episode)
IMHO Cazale's film work is almost negated by his role in helping to inflict Meryl Streep upon an unsuspecting world.

There's a 2009 documentary about him that's very good.

I thought Meryl Streep was respected here. Well shite, I'm glad to stop pretending to like her movies.

Laugh at Kafka or ignore him. I do both.

She is and rightfully should be. She is probably overrated, but that doesn't change the fact she's a seriously talented actress.

I don't like most of her movies, either. That doesn't change the fact she's a seriously talented actress.

she's just like Beck to me. i hate his music, but i can't deny he's damn good at making it.

I find Meryl Streep to be incredibly mannered.
Not mannered in a fun way like Katharine Hepburn. Just pretentious and irritating.

Cazale studied acting at Oberlin College before transferring to Boston University, where he trained with Olympia Dukakis. Acting gigs weren't easy to come by, though, so after graduation Cazale found himself working as a messenger for Standard Oil. Through his job, he met a fellow aspiring young actor named Al Pacino, and the two became fast friends, even living together in a communal house.
The two friends wouldn't stay in the oil business for long, though. Eventually they ended up performing in an off-Broadway performance of Israel Horovitz's one-act play The Indian Wants the Bronx in 1968. The play was an immediate hit with critics, which earned Pacino an Obie Award for Best Actor, while Cazale grabbed the Obie for Best Supporting Actor.
