Last week this lady I know cooked huge amounts of jambalaya, they have a place people use for wedding receptions, etc so she used that area to put together plates of jambalaya. She brought it to the red cross and they told her they could not take it, she evidently got very upset about the whole situation and gave the food to volunteer workers.

While I can understand people are wanting to do whatever they can to help, there also has to be some type of organization. And if the Red Cross started taking food from everyone who wanted to donate, then started giving out the food and all of a sudden a bunch of people start getting sick then that liability would fall on them.

The thing is, when people think about helping and what organizations they should donate to, the red cross is the first that comes to mind, but they do have their own system and whether its the right way to do things or not, they have a system in place.

Ive heard people bitching about Red Cross because their CEO makes just over $800,000.00 a year, but its not an amount I would have no expected.
