Even if they did, lock that piece of shite up for life. The 2nd amendment applies to black males too. And as free Americans they are free to go on any public road in America.
Because that coward was scared he had no right to shoot first. His rights were not being violated. But I guess since he "feels" threatened, then he is.

In this situations like these, I do as Clint Eastwood does.

Yeah and what's he even doing on a public street at 1 am? He should know that being that race and in public that late is scary to good wholesome people. Totally deserved what he got.

By whom? You trust your politicians way too much.
I don't trust a politician farther than I can throw them but if you don't think having an official, whose role it is to judge innocence or guilt, taking part in partisan elections then you just don't grasp the situation.
I have little faith in the electorate. They let just about anyone vote in it.

That sort of profanity is what got us here in the first place

Late to this thread, but does anybody know if the deceased had a record? Sorry for any rustled j's
Posted on 8/9/16 at 9:44 pm to PoundFoolish
Don't know, don't care. Irrelevant unless his death was precipiated by criminal/recidivist behavior, IMO.
Still would like to know a few more details as they come out before I cast any personal judgment, though.
Not that anyone's waiting on my decision, of course

The youngest of three sons, he attended Wake and Franklin County public schools. He was convicted of misdemeanor shoplifting and assault charges when he was 16, and that same year got his first job at a McDonald’s in Louisburg. He worked there until 2014, when he started working at a Waffle House.
He had been working at a North Raleigh McDonald’s since May. His work apron, name badge and hat sat atop a coffee table at the family home Monday. He had been looking forward to helping his girlfriend, Amani Rainey, 19, move into her dormitory at East Carolina University, where she will begin her first year of college this month.

It doesn't matter what any of us think. Only the jury. I tend to side with that of the homeowner and believe them when they say firearms were brandished and profanities hurled in threatening manner until proven otherwise. I side with MLK in regards to interpreting race. I find it very counter productive that those in this thread blaming racism and implying that I am, are doing so simply because the man killed was black and the shooter was white. Completely ignoring what the shooter said because of his race.

Reason I asked is that the one from a few years back in Houston was during a break-in (not sure what happened). I just don't understand why the deceased and his friend, apparently, were running from the vicinity of the house.

For the record, I haven't implied anything about you one way or the other itt regarding racism
I'm black, and also a homeowner. My natural bias is toward the property owners in cases like these, but I try to stay objective instead of assuming anything one way or the other before more solid facts come out. Race doesn't sway me one way or the other, though.

His friend said he was running because he had a little bit of weed on him

Yeah, there are several fishy things about all this, and that's definitely one of them, IMO.
Could have been an attempted break-in, could have been the homeowner taking some pretty extreme liberties. Whole thing sounds very fricked up.

. . . and they shooter's "warning shot" from the garage. I'm not a gun owner but wouldn't that be something you point the gun straight up for? Hard to do if your trajectory is closed off in the first place.
Posted on 8/9/16 at 9:58 pm to TigerOnTheMountain
quote:But what do you base that opinion on? The fact that someone who just shot and killed someone said it? As if he wouldn't say exactly that to try and justify his actions. I'm not claiming that didn't happen, but to say "I side with the homeowner" based purely on his accusations leads people to believe you saw "group of black men" and made your decision about what happened based on that. You can act like that's not your reasoning, but jumping to conclusions about the character of the victim doesn't help support that.

I don't know what to believe any more. You have a white wife, you don't protest, your brother attended a TRUMP rally(pretty sure I remember that thread being about your brother) and from what I have gathered from the PTB, you oppose Obama. My god man, you're as white as me.
