This is absolutely not true. SNL was shite when I was in college. It has pretty much been shite since I was in middle school.

When you have a show like that, lots of skits are going to be hit or miss. I'll be 33 next month, and I remember as a kid my siblings and I would go upstairs to my father's room and watch the show with him. We always enjoyed it even though there were skits that weren't funny. Damn, I miss Hartman. He was my favorite.

Someone mentioned Hader. Oh damn he is just hilarious to me.

Kattan, Ferrell, Parnell, Gasteyer, Shannon, Hammond. That was a solid crew. That was early 2000's, I think.

ETA: Oh, back to my original point. Yeah, I see the new stuff, and it's hit or miss, but I still laugh at a good bit of it. I don't like Leslie Jones, though. Just not my thing. And, I didn't really care for Chris Farley too much either. If all you do is scream, I'm not going to laugh. That goes for Jones, Farley, whoever.

Probably not a popular pick, but he's my all time favorite cast member. It's a little strange how much I loved his character. Not like strange strange, but just strange.

I think most people wrote SNL off a long time ago, but it was still solid for a while after that. But I do think it's pretty bad at this moment. After the likes of Hader/Wigg/Samberg and a couple of others left, it's been a bit of struggle the last few seasons.
