I decided to buy this one and if it doesn't work then I think I'm just going to go with one of the big 80's style antennas. Does anyone have any experience with this particular antenna?

I've read that your tv tuner plays a role in how many channels you can catch. I have a Sony and my father has a Samsung. We are both the same distance (mile or two) from NOLA and I catch more channels than him. He has a bigger antenna, booster and all that jazz.

i have what looks to be a $15 knock off of that one. it's not amplified or anything though. it works fine. i used compass app on iphone to point in proper direction and mounted it in my attic. when cable goes out (all too often) i just go up there and switch the line from the splitter to the antenna. it picks up all the big networks and about 10-15 other random channels that i have never watched.
