Live in DC, getting married in Charleston, need help with bachelor party

I live in the DC area, along with virtually all my friends that will be included in the BP. Wedding is in Charleston next June. Already doing a separate trip to Miami in Feb. We're having a little bit of difficulty thinking of a good location for the bachelor party that won't kill the bank. NYC has been thrown around, but that could be hectic with 15-17 dudes. I'd love to get a beach house in the Outer Banks, NC, but they typically only do week long rentals and doubt they rent to anyone but families. AC is a toilet, and Baltimore doesn't excite me.
Anyone have any suggestions for a bunch of guys in their mid 30's who like sports, beer, music, outdoor activities...

Deep sea fishing and house rental
Where are you getting married in Charleston?

We rented a cabin in Luray, VA right on a river for 3 nights. It was an absolute blast. We had similar amount of guys you do and it ended up being about $120 per person for the cabin rental. I'd highly recommend checking something like this out. We kayaked, tubed down river, drank in the river, and there is also a lot of wineries and distilleries around that area. Lots to do and won't break the bank.

Yeah NYC would probably be a pain in the arse with that many people.

Vermont would actually be a good spot for most of these activities (minus the sports), but that might be a bit far.
You should consider Asheville. Wouldn't be hard to find a place for that many people, great beer and outdoor stuff to do, cool local music. Sports would definitely be lacking though.
Also, I realize my homerism might be kicking in, but Boston could be a cool choice. Beer is great, you could catch a Pats game in the fall, short driving distance to hiking, etc.

What about Virginia Beach?

Montreal.
Just got back form a bachelor party there. Rent a house on Saint Denis or somewhere near Mount Royal. Food is great, bars are plentiful, and everything is open very late.
Strip clubs are full contact and nude. Chez Paris is the best, but you'll need to make arrangements for a table and bottle service to get that many people in. We had 8 and it was a freaking blast!
There are music festivals constantly and plenty of outdoors stuff to do if it hasn't turned cold yet. It's also easily the coolest walking city I've experienced.

I'm probably in the minority, but when did it become mandatory to go out of town for a bachelor party ?
DC is an awesome city. Get a hotel suite for home base, steaks and drinks Friday night while everyone rolls into town. Day drinking all day Saturday, bar hop all day and hit the strip clubs at night. Maybe charter a boat to take you around drinking on the river

I'm not saying you're entirely wrong, but I disagree. I'm doing my bachelor party in the fall and we are all going to Austin. I definitely wouldn't enjoy doing my bachelor party in BR or NOLA (where some of the guys still live), and frankly doing it up in Boston would just feel like another weekend out.
Plus, you can get drunk and act foolish in a city where I know no one, versus running the risk of being seen by a co-worker, boss, family friend, etc. if you're in your hometown.
But I'm sure plenty of people do their BPs where they live and have a good time. To each their own.

Cabin idea isn't bad. My fiancé and I get out to the blue ridge mountains often and love it. We'll lookin to that, thanks!
Staying home in DC is not an option.
Boston is a hell of a fun town, but we all did a bachelor party there last year for one of my groomsmen

Excellent, Charleston is a great wedding town.
I was married there as well. My wife was the 8th gen to get married in the same church. So there was no other choice but Charleston. Congrats
