How is it a lost quality if you have it? Are you saying no one has it? Are you saying more people back in the day had it? When was back in the day? Does that trend continue on a linear scale (i.e. the further back you go, the more character you find)? Is truthfulness, and the presence of values/convictions the only measure of character? Which values and convictions? And do you have any non-anecdotal evidence that those qualities as you define them exist in lower quantities (or is it percentages?) than at other times?

Basically, before you come out in public and preach, you should do actual research. Put in the work. Because while you may consider yourself a "man of character", if I were to judge you based on this post, you both lack humility and the ability to the work that would support your belief. That would make you lazy.

A handshake was ironclad. Not anymore. Your word was your bond. Yes I do believe it is a linear scales that as our society declines so does the substance on which sure footed men stand. It's quite easy to jump ship and get on the life rafts. It's completely different to stand and watch the rafts float away while you go down
