I'm rather certain that Maddon isn't an alcoholic... so we'll go another direction on the comparisons.
yes, 1 night having a little too much to drink=alchy
cubsense
I dislike Larussa and thought he was a jackoff and his self righteous shite, like"we play the game right" shite annoyed the hell out of me, but the guy is far from an alchy.

Matheny is everything Joe Maddon isn't. And that's a good thing, Cubs
I don't disagree, would much rather have Maddon and I'm a Matheny fan boy

But Matheny is very young and still on training wheels when it comes to coaching, soooo.
Man he's been a manager for almost 5 full seasons now and there's been hardly any improvement
I love Matheny as he's a legit good guy and is a Cardinal through and through but we may need to give up at this point. His inability to change habits with the bullpen and lineup are just mind boggling.
I don't want to get rid of the guy but if the rare event occurre where we knew we could get a clear cut great manager like Maddon, Giradi, Francona, Bochy, or even Yost I think we'd have to take that opportunity. Of course our front office would never do such a thing as it just isn't how they operate but I wouldn't be upset

About to lose 2 of 3 to lowly Reds. Carpenter back tomorrow.

This is pathetic. This may be one of the worst teams in a long time, and still may win 90.

Nice to see the Boys played a hard 9 today

Dude, Ole Cy Finnegan is tough match up for everyone. That's why he's just dominating the league right now.

To be fair, we are pretty injured currently
Also to be fair, we shouldn't lose a series to the Reds
A series we would've won if Matheny doesn't go full retard in game 1, I might add

But we Reds fans appreciate Matheny going full retard. Because we just won our 5th or 6 th series in a row.

Team just isn't that good this year. Too bad the Cardinals can't allign last years pitching with this years hitting. Just imagine how good that team would be. Oh well, at least football is almost here.

Matheny isn't the one making dumb mistakes in the field. The reality is the team wasn't any better when all these players were healthy.

Can we shoot Hazelbaker off into the same quadrant of space we sent Randy Choate? He is as bad in left field as people think Holliday is.
ETA: This is not an observation of today's game, I have no idea if or how he played today.

Didn't think he was that bad. Grichuk has been worse in my eyes. Infield has been awful. Molina has slipped too.
