I’ve struggled with being a hypochondriac all my life. The only advice I have for you is to simply keep your mind occupied with things that you enjoy. That is the best way to manage anxiety. No amount of medications, sex, or alcohol will change it.

To you and others who have what you believe may be a "false sense" of something hurting...
Maybe your body with its billion of sensory cell is communicating the correct messages to your brain that things aren't exactly right. (IF that is the case, that wouldn't make you or many others a "Hypochondriac", would it?)
THEORY-close-to-FACT (quite a bit of merit here but is not nor will ever be widely or publicly reported):
We have all been surrounded by invisible Electricity and Radio Waves (RF) since the 1920s. It is wired in our homes, at workplaces, along giant electric lines and towers -- everywhere.
Recently 4 and 5G towers have been installed everywhere, adding further invisible spectra of electro-magnetic frequencies ( EMF) to the already saturated aether /air. Another thing to be aware of: Radiation from cell towers, cell phones, microwave ovens, bluetooth.
ALL of these invisible RF / EMF wave potentially cause the body to react to the brain (maybe construed as, "I'm imagining I'm being hurt somehow, but that can't be, can it?").
It has indeed been discovered this constant barrage of radio waves, sound frequencies and home electric grid is factually harmful to our health, our body, brain and DNA.
Fortunately there are remedies and safeguards. (The first step is awareness and acknowledgement of RF / EMF exposure.)
