Connecting Outdoor FM Antenna to Older Stereo Receiver

I have an older stereo reciever that has the connection on it that you stick two wires into the ports. Similiar to the picture below, but mine connects the FM like the AM in the photo.




If I get a transformer like this and cut of the connectors and put the wires in the ports, will it work.

Yes...and if you have a TV antenna, you can route that to it too and pick up a boat load of stations all very clearly. I have a 12' X 12' antenna in the attic and run the line down the wall to the FM tuner with fantastic results.

You'd be better off using that on the antenna and running coax to the receiver. The coax gives you better EMF noise elimination than the 300 ohm antenna wire does.

If not something like this 75 - 300 Ohm Adapter with Quick F Connect would be a good option as well. Cutting the connections would probably work just fine, though, assuming there are no diodes in the barrel (wouldn't think there are).
