I'll say three years, tops. If a better job in the SEC becomes available-he'll bolt.

Agreed. If Petrino can last long enough to get rid of the Nutt hangover (at least 2 OR 3 YEARS), the Razerbacks will have accomplished a lot.

the Nutt hangover

what hangover

in 10 season he brought them to 8 bowls (every year except 04 & 05), 4 of those bowls being new years day bowls, 2 sec west championships all with less talent than other teams in his division

he battled boosters/admin who basically refuse to let a head coach lead that team, they refuse to let arkansas play their biggest game of the year on campus (and insetad play it ins a crappy piece of crap stadium in little rock), bring in HS coaches as coord just to sign recruits etc.

the arkansas admin/boosters are a joke right now...Nutt wasn't Arkansas' problem, Arkanas' was their own problem

I agree with that statement. With that said, Petrino will be successful. The question is, for how long?

I don't have any problem with Petrino abandoning the Falcons. It clearly was not what he signed up for when he agreed to coach Michael Vick.

My problem with this from Arkansas's perspective is that they now have a coach who has a documented desire to coach in the NFL rather than in college, and who is only coaching in college to escape a very unusual bad situation in the NFL.

Petrino will bolt back to the NFL at the first decent opportunity. Of course, he may never get that opportunity.

On the point of wins and losses, this is an A+ hire. If you think character and integrity are equally important, this is a D- hire.

Pat Forde thinks the NFL will never give him another shot, so they do not have to worry about that.
