Actually I don't think that would be a bad hire at all. He might end up being a better HC than DC. He is a great recruiter and an angry black man is just what Michigan needs to change things up.
Yeah, that's what yall need!!

think that Miles is a mediocre coach and that LSU could do much better
Not many have close to his winning percentage at LSU. Arkansas either. Find a list of big Conference coaches winning 85% of thier games.
Miles won the SEC Championship & has his team playing for the National Championship in his 3rd year at LSU.

LSU could've done better back in 2005 and could do better now
Posssibly, I won't argue that. But will you concede that the odds are we would do much, much worse?

Comments like these just show everyone how little you know about football.
Miles' clock management is pathetic. The ends of the 1st halves of Tennessee games were horrible. The end of the auburn game was horrible. Without Russell his has at least 3 more losses. No one else playing college football makes that throw against Arizona State.
Miles is fortunate to be where he is. Coaches would line up to take this job. We could easily find someone better than him

The majority of LSU fans want Miles to stay it appears. As for LSU doing better? Well I guess we have two examples via Arkansas and Michigan that show us that getting a new quality Coach is not all that easy

Jack Del Rio was sitting in a car in a parking lot ready to talk to skip, but was afraid he would get caught as he was still in season with the jags. 3 years ago, the big name coaches were already hirede because of the timing that saban left

Do you really believe that Arkansas and Michigan are currently on par jobs with LSU?

Oh by the way. Lets be real about this. On some of this stuff if you indict Miles you have to indict the large portions of the Coaching Staff. Inculuding the Wizard Gary Crowton, Jimbo Fisher in the past etc etc.
I always find it amusing when things are going good it is all Miles assistants. WHen things are going bad it is often just Miles. Pleaseeee
THe End of the AUburn Game was a direct Call by Gary Crowton. Flynn was just a tad slow coming off the ball

Les is a very poor clock manager, makes slow adjustments and sometimes makes too many adjustments and his play calling style is boring, stale and a bit predictable. He's also seems to run the team ragged in practice and off season and doesn't substitute the players to the fans delight.
That being said,
Les is a pretty good recruiter and surrounds himself with excellent assistants. He's not so stubborn that he doesn't make adjustments and the players seem to really like him. He doesn't let his players sleep on the "smaller" opponents, although Tulane this year could be questioned. Also, so far, he seems to be a very good and respectible person.
You don't win as many games as he's won in spite of the coach. He's a good coach. He's not great. He seems like he's still learning how to be a coach at times. There are better coaches out there, but don't know how many. I would say that he is a top 25 coach, with the potential to get much better.

No, the coaching search at Arky and Michigan shows how delusional people are about who they can hire as their coach

I think Michigan is. It is a huge Program in a big conference. Also lets face it. Ann Arbor is nicer than Baton Rouge and has its advantages. So yeah Michigan is up there with LSU and USC. Arkansas might not be up there with LSU. However it is not ligh years behind. It si alos a program that is trending growth. Still the fact that a major SEC school is having the problems they are finding a Coach should be a warning sign to us

3 plays, 2 spikes? the head coach should not let that happen

If you go on the boards of schools with the some the "great Coaches" you will find segments of the fan base all commenting and bellyaching about the ACoaches and some of their game planning choices. It is called the three year year itch and yeah even Spurrier has got his vocal contigent of critics. What was funny was on the Auburn Boards that there seemed to be a sizeable voiced that would not be too upset with Tuberville if he left. THey were scratching thier heads after the SOuth Florida and Miss State loss. They were very critical of him during parts of the LSU game.
THis boards and local talk radio delude reality. It puts us all in a bubble. That is one reason why LSU fans bought inot the myth how out "talent" was light years ahead of everyone elses. It is not. As was shown when Docuet got injured and how things got out of wack quick
