Police in Wynnewood, Oklahoma arrived at the home of the Malones with a warrant for someone who had lived at the rental residence 10 years earlier, according to local TV station Fox 25.
While there, an unidentified police officer took what Fox 25 described as a high-powered rifle from his vehicle and shot Opie, described as a bulldog/pitbull mix, multiple times, including at least twice in front of children who were having a birthday party.

And they wonder why. Someone, badge or not comes on your property and kills your dog in front of your children during their birthday, youre going to want to kill the fricker.

the officer told them Opie tried to attack him “through the fence,” presumably referring to the chain-link fence that surrounds the yard to keep Opie from roaming off the property.
The Wynnewood Police Department did not respond to a request for comment from The Huffington Post, but Police Chief Ken Moore has provided a different story to other news outlets.
He told news station KOKH that the officer was already inside the fence when the dog ran around the corner of the house and attacked him, and that the officer tried to kick Opie off before ultimately shooting him in self-defense.
I assume this officer has some serious lacerations from when the dog bit him.
