Why not be satisfied with a 6-6 season because you've seen Tulane? I mean, if we're setting the bar at the lowest point in LSU history, why not just go ahead and set it at the lowest point period?

It's pretty much at the least make it to Atlanta or bust. The team is stacked this year and loses everyone for next year.

It's hard to convince people that something called the "Tiger Athletic Foundation" has nothing to do with the university.
I think the problem a lot of Louisianians have is realizing that the people of this state will give millions to the football team, but don't want to give a dime to the actual academic side of the university. That's the perception Alexander is dealing with. We will spend zillions on entertainment, but not on education.

which is much more manageable IF (big if) LSU has a disappointing season, coupled with the significant drop in the buyout. it all depends whats a "disappointing season".

bullshite. Had Arkansas not converted a 4th and 25 last year they dont beat ole miss and ole miss wins the west. No way does a 1 loss bama miss the playoffs. They dick ride saban too much for that.

agree... but fans will come in here and tell you that Les doesnt need to win anything and tell you how much of an ungrateful fan you are and to go root for someone else because Les is the best thing that has happened to LSU... and then they will start talking about the growing pains of the 1990s and how you should be thankful if LSU finishes 9-3
I dont know anyone that thinks like this.

Let's say les is fired what coach can we get that is better then miles?

1. I expect LSU to go 10-2 this season. Win a bowl game and we end up 11-2.
2. There will be no official (as in the people who could actually fire Les) discussion of
terminating Les Miles unless we go 8-4 or worse.
3. I do not expect an SEC title because I don't think Harris is a SEC title caliber leader nor do I think our D line is topnotch across the board. And, I think our D will take awhile to adapt to Aranda.

Les has LSU by the balls after the end of the year debacle. It would take a total collapse to have him fired, but with this talent and depth, 9-3 may be considered somewhat of a collapse. A playoff spot is imperative!

Don't be dumb.
Take your own advice. Les is going no where and this BS about him having to make the playoffs is beyond stupid.

He was being sarcastic. You clearly arent familiar with his posts if you think he was serious,
Posted on 7/13/16 at 7:08 pm to tbabino
If that is the case then why did the admins let him go into the season with only 3.3 yrs left on his contract?? And why include the Miles clause in Cams extension? Truth is nobody has anybody by anything. Reality on what it will take for Miles to continue is whatever it takes to sell a two year extension and raise to the fan base and BOS. 9-3 and a lower tier bowl with no hardware is how difficult a sell warranting a 2 yr extension??

Can we maybe play the first game of the season comma before we start talking about firing the coach already
Posted on 7/13/16 at 9:22 pm to TigerCliff777

I'll be happy if they're in contention for the West going into November.
Win the West and you play for the conference title (as an aside, I'm more interested in SEC titles than in national titles anyway).
Play for enough SEC titles and you'll eventually win a few of them.
Win an SEC title and you're in the national conversation.
Consistently competing for the West title is frankly a) a realistic goal and b) a profitable result for the program, as it will always mean bowl births and butts in seats through the end of the season
And if nothing else, Les has had the program consistently in the mix for the West pretty much every time but once that I can recall heading into the final stretch for the past decade.

If you think 6-6 is the lowest point in LSU history, you must have been in a coma for much of the 1990ies.
It's only because of what Les has done at LSU that allows you to view a nine or ten win season as a disappointment. Some here are too slow to realize that true fact.
