I have the chance to buy a 16.5 degree 3 wood. Is 16.5 ok?
Do you want to flight the ball higher? Do you even know anything about your game?

If you're just starting out. Find whatever you can for cheap. Get things that are forgiving and easy to hit. Work on your swing for a while. Get better around the greens. Once you start hitting below 90-95 consistently, get fitted for irons. You don't have to buy a new set or any that are less forgiving, but it will help you a ton. Start breaking 90 and get fitted for a driver. Again, used is fine. You dont need one with bells and whistles either. During this time you can work out what 14 clubs you like. Draw bias. Degrees. Manufacturers. Grips.

All this to say that it's a process. And even this one may not work best for your situation.
