Lots of great suggestions but I'll add one: if you're going to check out Multnomah Falls, you might has well drive the Historic Columbia River Scenic Hwy. Put 'Portland Women's Forum' in your GPS and it's an amazing drive once you check out that view point. There are tons of hikes along the highway. The Columbia River Gorge is an absolute must and just outside of Portland.
