I've seen people make mention of more than one perspective/camera of the incident in which Sterling died. Does anyone have a link to the second?

From the first I couldn't tell exactly what was going on with Sterling's hands. It seemed impossible to determine from that perspective whether he had the gun or was going for it - or not.

I don't think anyone is claiming he didn't resist arrest.

That's exactly what many of the protestors are claiming and law school professors are writing in the NYT. "Clearly restrained" - read that thread.

And I haven't seen anyone claim he didn't have a gun.

His Aunt that raised him and his Baby Momma have both claimed that to the media.

The question is did he attempt to use it against officers, or was it reasonably likely that he would have attempted to use it against the officers. He was armed in 2009 and did not.

He reached for the gun, MULTIPLE TIMES IN BOTH 2009 and 2016, but couldn't get to it because of officers actions. I hope you aren't one of those people who say something moronic like "he should have to pull the gun and point it before they are allowed to shoot." Let me explain this in the simplest of terms. If you have a gun and start reaching for it, that is a deadly force encounter. Period. Because if I wait until you get hold of the gun and start to draw it, the best case scenario for our deadly force encounter is that we tie and both shoot each other. Does that sound like a great idea to you? Do you accept being shot as part of your work day so you can be double sure of what the guy intends to do when he gets hold of his illegal firearm?

BTW, I have seen idiotic defenses for stuff like this before but can't believe anyone accepts them. Once heard an Attorney argue a felon fought with an officer over the officers gun because the felon was scared the officer was going to use it so he wanted to "get it away from the officer and hold it" so everyone would be safe. Ummmm OK.

Diddunuffin. Gentle Giant. Good boy. Wouldn't hurt a fly. Headed to college. Good daddy. Takes care of his babys' mommas. White man keeping him down. Have I missed any?

But our local and national media, paid rabble rousers, and POS POTUS continue to hold him up as a larger than life hero. What a fine poster child for the BLM movement-a career criminal and total scumbag.

You said the media is reporting his prior arrests.
The article you linked to was posted 10 minutes before your post @ 07/12/2016 10:16 PM

The media is big business! It behooves them to keep things stirred up so people watch and they get ad revenues.

NBC has news from 2:30 AM until 11:00 AM. Then from 5 PM thru 7 PM. And again from 10 PM thru 11:30 PM.

This is a money-based society.

Sterling thought he could resist because he was a police informant.

Bottom line is that with his criminal record he should have been in jail when he got shot. I mean what kind of system do we have that this happens. The guy had carnal abuse of a child. It's a shame.
