quote:

The sergeant ran towards the shooting. I ran the opposite direction … was screaming, 'Run, run! Active shooter, active shooter! Run, run!' And I was trying to get folks out as fast as I could …
- Rev. Jeff Hood.

This quote shows the very nature of our policemen and women. They run towards gunfire, towards danger. The irony cannot be lost on the fact that a protester witnessed this bravery by police on his behalf. Call me a bootlicker if you will and there are some bad apples, but I stand with our guys and gals in blue.

ETA: Sorry, wrong board.

There is a photo on the AP feed of two police officers covering several of the BLM marchers with their bodies while the shooting was happening. I bet that doesn't see much exposure. Doesn't fit the narrative.

The key thing is that whether or not any individual officer acts bravely, we all expect them to.
What would BLM protestors have thought if the police ran away from the shooting in their cop cars?

So BLM wants:
1. Brave cops who will go to shitty neighborhoods in the middle of the night walking into unknown danger, walk towards the gunfire, etc.
2. Cops who exercise perfect judgment at all times.

No matter what we pay them, no matter how we vilify their compatriots, no matter the sound reasons cops have for their prejudices, they want brave cops who don't make mistakes in what they perceive to be life and death situations.

We certainly IMO need to examine police philosophy, how they are to handle situations, where their power stops, etc, but those discussions are pointless if we are going to vilify cops who fall short of unrealistic standards.

The only screaming he did was crying like a little girl. He probably wasn't even near the shooting if I'm throwing darts on a wall
