It's definitely the offense. Since 2009 we've lost 15 games.
12 of those losses came when the offense was shutdown and held to less than 25 points.

Sure we'll get into defensive slugfests, but Clemson and Ole Miss put up 40 on Alabama. We should not have a problem with 25.

So we can blame the defense somewhat for Notre Dame and MS State (2014) and Georgia (2013), but I have a hard time putting the blame anywhere but squarely on the offenses shoulders when we put up 14, 16, 17, 6, 16.. etc.

any way you slice it, all 3 of the teams need to be at a high level to win the SEC west. our defense was horrible at times last year and our special teams were horrible until the last few games (coverage and punting). our offense actually overcame that in the early part of the season but pretty much died against bama, ole miss and Arkansas. I can assure you that our offense was indeed the main problem at times even when we won the game. our offense against the aggies was pathetic. we should have crushed them; harris couldn't even hit the field the barn was located in.

If you think back to 2011 our offense was abysmal.

Um, no. The offense wasn't flashy but they beat on everybody hard enough to make them want to quit in the 4th, if not earlier. Bama was the *only* defense in the country that kept coming back for more, which makes sense given that it was also the only D in the country that was as talented as LSU that year.

I have a bigger concern with the D for a number of reasons. It is mostly because of the starting from scratch in everything. If Aranda gets it installed and we have the players to do the job I will be much relieved. Everything is just so new. Getting Valentine back will help also.

Seriously?

Stupid post of the year award.

Are you related to Les Miles? There is an eerily similar lack of thought in your post as there is in Les' offensive philosophy.

Yes. Yes it has.

aside from this miss st loss and ND loss in 2014, the other 6 losses in the last 2 seasons can be attributed almost entirely to offensive ineptitude

Auburn 2014 - offense managed 7 points

Alabama 2014 - the offense bleauxs a first and goal to settle for a FG with a minute to geaux

Arkansas 2014 - what can be said about this game that hasnt already been said about afghanistan?

Bama 2015 - OL forgot to get off the bus aka The night fournette lost his invitation to NY, NY.

arky 2015 - coaches come out in shotgun almost entirely the first half because the morons on this staff want to make adjustments from the bama game, after the bama game

Ole miss 2015 - dont let the numbers fool you, lsu racked up yards and points when this game was well in hand.

The playcalling sets up poor execution. We run like 7 plays that deviate into 7 other plays which includes our 7th grade route tree in the passing game (not to discredit any junior high attack that actually uses the middle of the field.)

If the coaches can't see what's wrong and can't fix it (after all this fricking time) get the frick out.

Both sides have been a problem in the bast few years.

Offense has been a more consistent one, but the defense wasn't good last year. It wasn't great in 2013 either.

The offense has been the problem. The fact that the D wasn't elite enough to continue to bail out poor offensive play doesn't let the offense off the hook.
