he told me that the line of work he was in just got outsourced to India. Now he can't find a job anywhere in that field because as soon as they meet him in person and see his grey hair they don't call back. Pretty sad for him.

I don't understand this at all. It's not like young guys make a lifetime career out of one job these days. I would think that an older guy is less likely to be always shopping his services than a young guy.
