The consensus top player in the class who has drawn comparisons to Miguel Cabrera, Miguel Sano and Chipper Jones, among others. He is the best July 2nd prospect since Sano signed in 2009 and possibly since Cabrera signed out of Venezuela in 1999.
He will receive the largest bonus of any player ever to come out of Venezuela.

I was gonna mention the other day but forgot, but holy shite Jenkins has an incredible pickoff move
Posted on 7/2/16 at 6:34 am to VADawg
We have a lot of guys with excellent moves. Jenkins is very good. Julio has that balk move that has been excellent for years.
And Max Fried probably has the best move in all of baseball. He has 16 pickoffs this year (96 baserunners allowed). No team has more than 10 at the big league level.
Almost a 20% chance of getting picked off if you reach.

Braves have stolen Yefri del Rosario from the Indians.

Hopefully, we can get back to the 90's days

Maitan slides in to my rankings at #5. He is likely most talented guy in system, but at 16 still 4 or so years away from the big leagues.
Will most likely start as a borderline top 100 prospect overall. Should be fun to watch him shoot up those lists and through the system.

Yep, your list doesn't even include guys like Pache and Ventura, who are really interesting prospects. Though I think both will be much higher on your list at years end.
Looking at your list I just really realized how many potential TOR lefty starters we have in the pipeline between Allard, Newcomb, Fried, Wentz, and Muller. That's pretty nice.

Pache and Bird were my next 2. Pache in particular could easily slide in that 30-35 range.
Ventura is one I'm watching closely. Obviously he has 80 speed, but I'm interested to see what else he does the rest of the way in the GCL.

Wow, with that bonus he could literally buy Venezuela from Madero now.

Yep, be interesting to see if he maintains the contact skills and the walk rate he had last year in the DSL. If he can maintain a decent walk rate he's an extremely interesting player with that crazy speed.

You know shite's cray in Venezuela when Baseball America won't report signing bonuses for players from that country. Such a messed up world.
Glad Braves are cashing in on some top talent today.

I mentioned that because I was watching the game where Gant was injured and Jenkins had to come in for long relief. He pitched ok, made one bad pitch that Lonnie Chisenhall hit to Tennessee, but Jenkins had Francisco Lindor mindfricked over on first base before he picked him off

Where and when will these guys start playing now that they've signed?
Posted on 7/2/16 at 10:32 am to Patron Saint
Dominican summer league most likely.

Coppy said instructs in October and GCL next June.

What your saying is the Braves will develop him nicely and trade him in some deal for a past him prime player all while they help another team be successful.
