Xhaka was very good today. He needs to play every game especially without Santi in the team. I'll take Gabs over Jenko at RB. He doesn't provide much going forward but he is very sound defensively. Gabs also looked comfortable on the ball today.

Xhaka looked very good today. Needed 3 pts & to stay within striking distance.

I only saw the second half, so these comments only apply to half the game. Xhaka was so good. His ability to break up play and then quickly spring counters or move the ball forward is something we have been lacking. I thought we had lots of shaky organizational issues that made us look vulnerable on the counters. We looked good as a countering team ourself, and I really think that's where our strength lies anyway. We have speed, technique, and good movement on the counter attack but in possession we often look too stale and get countered by teams that sit back and defend in their own box. Glad we pulled out the win. That game was fun as hell to watch.

Ozil and Sanchez are really starting to develop some great chemistry. Strong two man game. Hopefully that helps in contract renewals for both.
Same with Ramsey and Giroud, they play really well off each other in the final third.

I'd love to have them all 4 in the same starting 11.
Really glad Xhaka got back in the lineup.
I didn't watch the game this morning (overslept) but I caught the end of it and the Arsenal announcers said Elneny played really well today.
I can't wait to have everyone back from injury

Xhaka and Elneny look a good pairing. I hate that Ramsey can only help off the bench but I guess that's his role for now. He and Giroud do really offer something against tired foes.
One of our better performances in a while. Alexis was excellent. Ozil too. Theo got his goal. Ox threatened.
Still worried about Monreal defensively. He's a step down from where he was last year.
Felt bad for Debuchy. He looked sharp for 13 minutes.

First game I haven't thought elneny was the weak link on the pitch. I am waiting for Xhaka/Cazorla though

i want to win but not upset about resting our big guys.

I know we rested a bunch of guys but Southampton did also. They look like they play together all the time while we look disjointed.

Yeah. Not a whole lot of creativity out there. Pretty ho-hum about it though. If we lose we lose. We got the FA cup starting up, europe, and the PL is going to be a battle. Never like to lose but this cup just doesnt get me excited.

Oh come on man, we're shooting for the quadruple

Xhaka was very good again. Ramsey was very poor. Just when you think he's figured it out he puts in a bad performance. It wasn't our first choice back four but we give up so many good chances. We need to defend more as a team. If some of our opponent's chances start going in we will drop points quickly.

wasn't Ramsey playing in Ozil's normal position--the one Rambo says he wants?
