In Rosemary/Seacrest you have High Pointe Resort which is beach front condos and then across the 30A is Seacrest which is a mix of condos and homes.

Grayton is probably the most laid back but least kid friendly

Seaside will cost you the most.

I would check VRBO and stay in the Alys BEACH/seacrest/Rosemary area.

Seagrove is an option if you want to be close to seaside but not pay seaside prices.

Anything west of Water Color while nice, isn't really as nice as the middle to eastern end of 30A.

I totally disagree. Grayton is far from the main road. It doesn't have resort-like amenities, but it has a small town feel. You can rent a house with a backyard and a porch swing. The thing that makes Grayton so kid-friendly, is that everything is walkable, and the beach is easily accessed from the town - no dunes to walk up and over. Also, Western Lake is right there and there is an area of the lake right where it goes up closes to the gulf that has some beach sand that is perfect for small kids (especially if the surf is to high for small kids).

There are some reasonably priced cottages on Cottage St in Grayton that are great for small families and there is a neighborhood pool, as well.

High Pointe Resort

Easily this. Closest to the beach and less beach density compared to Rosemary and Seacrest. Best Resort Pool along 30A IMO. High Pointe is hands down the best option for your $.
