I think he is trying to imply that if you get 50 RSUs then you are being given ~$37,500 in options.
The reality is the offer works the other way around...the employer decides to give $37,500 in RSUs which happens to be equal to 50 RSUs.
I think that's the point you are making?

Except you left out the vesting period, liquidity isn't converted right away if given the desire to sell.
