Dale would have

1. Set him on the bench more as he did Shaq
2. Talked with him man to man as he did Shaq
3. Built a relationship with his Parents to let them know he had Ben's interest at heart- as he did Shaq
4. Taught him a few lessons about life- as he did Shaq
5. Would have had Shaq spend time with Ben and his Parents- Shaq would have obliged

Would it have made any difference in the team? Probably not

Is this a different time? Absolutely- the NBA is a different organization today- players today have little respect for the organization, the fans, the sport or anything else except themselves- they do not even respect each other.

Dale Brown wouldn't have made a difference - basketball changed big time and Dale Brown didn't want to change. He kept on playing the same type of basketball and started losing.

I'm not one of the Dale guys here by a long shot, but he would have held the team as a whole more accountable...now given the toxic lack of accountability the past few years that's not saying a lot, but likely would have gotten us at least in the tournament.

I expect little change, but always hope there will be.

That our administration bowed to pressure from the Brownies pretty much drowned out the expectations and told me where we were Re: basketball. The only hope now is for us to fall arse-backward into a lucky/good hire next time around.

Ben Simmons did just enough to get by, if you watch him play you could tell he was going through the motions. Simmons never exerted himself or took charge of this team even do he was the best player in the country.

Johnny Jones get blame for alot of things, and i must admit he didn't do a good job with this team, but blaming him for Ben Simmons is wrong. Simmons played his 1 season, just because it was a requirement.

And then he had to deal with Tim Quarterman, who was envy of Simmons and tried to show the world that he was Simmons equal and played super selfish and pouted when things didn't go his way. The best thing for LSU Basketball was Quarterman leaving.

He did make 2 final fours, 4 elite eights, won 4 regular season SEC titles and 1SEC tourney title

Sure, Dale had tons of talent in the late 80's/early 90's that underachieved but you seriously underestimate his motivational skills. JJ could've used some of that and it would've helped.

Dale would have enlightened him on things he could accomplish other than the obvious basketball skills. What happens if he gets hurt and can't play basketball? Dale would have enlightened him on other paths that are spiritually uplifting and glorious in the eyes of God.
Basketball will end, then what? Coach Brown had many answers.

Yep, and how to play a little D. Brady would have done the same. And tiger fan would still want to fire them.

The new HC would have only four scholarship players.
