Has anyone realized that Tenuta wanted to be the HC at GT? That means that he will barely be at LSU before he leaves for the first big head coaching opportunity available. I'm a huge fan of his arriving here in Baton Rouge, just sayin.

Whats the difference between Pelini and him then?

I'm cool with the coaching carousel as long as the recruits keep coming (specifically LA. recruits). Hungry coaches are good for LSU.

Tenuta is much more aggressive then Pellini. He had the most sacks in the NCAA with Ga. Tech for god's sake. The man calls a mean defense. NO more soft zone at all. I watched his defense several times and they get after it. If they had a little more talent and an offense there they would be great.

What are the indications that Les will go after him?

One of the most well known and successful DCs in the nation, his only real shot at HC job(I think) is gone this year with Paul Johnson being hired.

He might go to a HCing position soon, but even if he only gives 2 or 3 years at LSU he would continue LSU's tradition on defense.

Les has a reputation for going after the best coordinators / coaches he possibly can.

Considering the talent level at Georgia Tech, I'd have to assume that Tenuta qualifies.

He might also go after the DC at UCLA, also serving as interim head coach.

Been in the NFL, spent the last two with UCLA, pretty good defense, agressive.

Dewayne Walker, was on Miles staff at OSU In 1995.

It isn't like GT is total shite, though. They had the top WR in the nation last year and the top RB in the ACC. The talent at LSU is definitely better, but GT isn't Georgia Southern

His CBs this year a terrible, and good CBs that can match up m to man are important in his scheme.

With the load of talent we have in our secondary he should have what he needs.

so we're supposed to go after coaches that aren't good enough to be head coaches? I say go get the best, if he leaves, go get the best again.

I am totally for him to come on over, and improve upon our defensive squad. I was just pointing out the fact that we better not expect him to stick around for long.

i got ya. it's just hard to get coordinators to stick around for long these days, or head coaches at that

Hopefully sending more than 3 players against opposing QBs!

So do you marry/date ugly women so no one else will ever look at them, or do you go after the best knowing someone is always going to be chasing them? "life is too short to date ugly women"

I don't agree.

I think Tenuta is more of the career coordinator types.

LSU coach Les Miles has said Tenuta would be among those he would consider to replace Pelini.

Except that we lose both of our starting CB's, and their back ups, Eugene and Hawkins can't even get on the field in dime situations. Currently we bring in safeties in our nickle and dime packages. One has to assume that Miles/Pellini are very unhappy with their play in practice. Next year could be scary at the corner positions. When we have 2 strong safties (jones and McCray) coming in on passing situations you know something isn't right with our reserve cb's.
